Ukraine will lose 1 million people in six years

The International Monetary Fund has given a forecast of the population of Ukraine for the period until 2025. In six years, the population will decrease by 1 million people.

This is noted in the materials for the October review of the IMF’s “World Economic Outlook.”

According to the IMF, Ukraine’s population at the end of 2019 was 41.733 million people, slightly less than the official data of the State Statistics Service (41.902 million people).

The IMF predicts that Ukraine’s population will gradually decline and amount to

  • by the end of 2020 – 41,536 million people,
  • by the end of 2021 – 41,369 million people,
  • by the end of 2022 – 41,204 million people,
  • by the end of 2023 – 41.039 million people,
  • by the end of 2024 – 40.875 million people,
  • by the end of 2025 – 40,712 million people.

Therefore, the IMF expects the population to decline by 1 million in six years.

As RBC-Ukraine reported, in October 2019, the International Monetary Fund gave a forecast of Ukraine’s population for the period up to 2024. The IMF predicted that Ukraine’s population will gradually decrease and by the end of 2024 it will reach 41.039 million people. .

Remember, according to the State Statistical Service, the actual population in Ukraine as of January 1, 2020 was 41.902 million people.
