Off the coast of Equatorial Guinea in the Gulf of Guinea, the pirates attacked a cargo ship and took two crew members hostage, presumably a Ukrainian and a Russian.

According to the portal, an unknown number of pirates attacked the MITONG RIVER in a high-speed boat.
“Two nautical miles from the port of Malabo, pirates in a speedboat flying the Comorian flag attacked the cargo ship RIO MITONG. The pirates boarded the ship using a ladder and kidnapped two people, “said the message.
The captured sailors are supposed to be citizens of Ukraine and the Russian Federation. The remaining team members are currently safe.
The ship itself, according to the Marinetraffic website, after the attack reached the port of Malabo.
It is also reported that shortly after the attack on the cargo ship RIO MITONG in the same water area, an assault on the research ship MV DJIBLOHO was carried out. According to unconfirmed information, two Russians were kidnapped from this ship.
