Alexander Kornienko does not believe that President Zelensky really wants to end the powers of parliament soon.

The leader of the Servant of the People party, Aleksandr Kornienko, believes that there are currently no constitutional grounds for dissolving parliament and the president is unlikely to agree with this. Kornienko said this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

“To date, there are no constitutional grounds for dissolution. And we are talking about this constantly. I don’t think the president wanted to terminate the powers of the Verkhovna Rada earlier than planned,” Kornienko said, answering the question whether the president from Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, would agree to dissolve the Verkhovna Rada. if she doesn’t support her bill On the restoration of public confidence in constitutional processes.

According to Kornienko, such a statement speaks of his concern because, on the one hand, “the court makes decisions that are not very useful for the country”, and on the other, “the deputies are not behaving clearly enough.”

Kornienko believes that some of the people’s deputies “directly support these decisions of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, and some support them in disguise.”

“I mean, this is more of a sign: let’s think about the problem, let’s start a discussion,” Kornienko emphasized, adding that it had started.

We will remember, earlier Zelensky allowed the dissolution of the Rada if the parliamentarians refuse to dismiss the judges of the Constitutional Court.

And in May, Zelensky announced that he would dissolve the Verkhovna Rada if the people’s deputies from the Servant of the People faction stopped supporting important laws and began to put pressure on the interests of financial groups.
