The OPU called the conditions for the elections in Donbass

The OPU draws attention to the fact that the OSCE plays a very important role in the process of resolving the situation in Donbas.

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, believes that elections in the uncontrolled territory of Donbass are only possible after its unemployment and the resolution of security problems. He stated this on Friday 18 September on the air of the talk show “Savik Shuster’s Freedom of Expression” on the television channel “https://news.google.com/__i/rss/rd/articles/Ukraine”.

Speaking about the discussion in the trilateral contact group on the draft resolution of the People’s Deputy of the Servant of the People party Oleksandr Kachura, Yermak noted that only the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has the authority to adopt certain laws or resolutions.

“The decision must be made in accordance with the interests of our State, the obligations we have today and the norms of international law. What will be, will be decided by the Verkhovna Rada. Therefore, this statement by Mr. Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, indicates that the Verkhovna Rada will consider changes to the decree on local elections in the near future that was not entirely correct, ”he said.

Yermak hopes that this is a wise decision by the people’s deputies in accordance with the expectations of society.

“And we understand that today the holding of elections in uncontrolled territory is really possible only after complete unemployment, and then everything possible will be done to resolve the security problems,” he emphasized.
