On Friday, October 9, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft law of the Interior Ministry on changing the procedure for the production and issuance of vehicle plates.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine.
It is proposed that when registering a vehicle at the service center of the Interior Ministry, a person receives a registration certificate and applies for a plate at his own discretion at the place that is entitled to produce them in accordance with the state standard.
“Our initiative gives citizens the opportunity to choose at their own discretion the combinations of license plates that are freely available, and not just those that are in the service center of the Ministry of the Interior,” said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Sergei Goncharov.
At the same time, it is noted that the transfer of the plate-making function will help save public funds and simplify the procedure for providing administrative services.
The owner of the car will have the opportunity to go to the electronic cabinet of the driver, find a toll-free number and reserve it. In addition, the transfer of this role to business entities will contribute to small business development.
We will recall, earlier, the Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krikliy said that the MIU will promote a bill on the mandatory technical inspection of personal cars in the Cabinet of Ministers. It is scheduled to become operational in 2022.
