Ukrainian law enforcement officers detained the Telegram-bot, which provided personal information to Ukrainians.

On Tuesday, May 12, the Ukrainian National Police launched an investigation into the creation of a database of Ukrainians on one of Telegram’s anonymous channels. This was reported by the press service of the Interior Ministry.

The police authorities started an investigation under part 2 of article 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized interference with the operation of electronic computers).

Previously, the police established that the volume of the published data is a compilation of the information databases of various government departments and non-governmental organizations at different times and is not related to the “Diya” application.

Now the work of the Telegram channel is blocked, according to the Interior Ministry.

At the same time, Sergey Panasyuk, a professor in the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines at the Ukrainian-American University of Concord, posted a screenshot of the bot’s message on Facebook on April 12, which said it had to be closed due to complaints, but another was created.



On May 11, the creation of the Telegram UA Baza robot was revealed, which provided Ukrainian personal data such as passport data, driver’s license, phone number.
