Biochemist and Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) employee Mark-Michael Bloom expressed his belief that by poisoning Navalny (and previous Skripals) with poison from the Novichok group, someone wanted to “deliberately draw attention to the assassination attempt”.
According to Bloom, who expressed in a comment to Meduza, it is difficult to say exactly how this “statement” of the poisoner should be evaluated.
From the logic of scientific reasoning it follows that there are a large number of no less dangerous toxins. However, the use of this particular delusional poison is intended to imply that it was Soviet chemists, commissioned by the Ministry of Defense, who worked on the Novichok group of substances. And now, they say, the Russian “heirs” of the special services of the USSR are behind the attempts.
In addition, the use of a substance of this group in itself does not prove anything, it is indicated in the material. Furthermore, Russian special services do not have a monopoly on Novichok.
Earlier, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko made a loud statement that there was no poisoning of Navalny. According to him, this stems from the intercepted negotiations between Berlin and Warsaw.
We also report that Germany is awaiting Russia’s reaction to the Navalny poisoning.
