The head of the NBU, Kirill Shevchenko, voted for a reprimand and a vote of no confidence in Rozhkova and Sologub, the source said.
The National Bank Council expressed mistrust and reprimanded the first deputy director of the NBU Yekaterina Rozhkova and the deputy director of the NBU Dmitry Sologub. This was reported by the regulator’s press service on Monday, October 5.
The official reason for this decision is a violation of the regulatory acts of the NBU, the NBU Employee Code of Ethics, the internal regulations for NBU employees and the requirements of the Labor Code of Ukraine.
The NBU Council recommended to the Board to strengthen the executive discipline and responsibility of the National Bank employees, to ensure sufficient performance of the compliance function, to strengthen control when making decisions regarding the application of methods to influence in banks in the field of financial monitoring.
The Council also confirmed the credentials of its member Vasily Gorbal.
According to a source from the Interfax-Ukraine agency, the director of the National Bank, Kirill Shevchenko, voted for a reprimand and distrust in Rozhkova and Sologub.
He also clarified that two members of the NBU Council abstained during the decision to issue a reprimand, and the rest voted in favor, while, voting for the expression of distrust, one member of the Council abstained, another was against and the rest supported this decision.
“Both decisions are illegal, the NBU Council has no authority to issue a reprimand. These are administrative relations, and they (Sologub and Rozhkova – ed.) Are not his subordinates,” said the source.
He added that the issue of censorship was brought to the meeting by a member of the NBU Council, Vitaly Shapran.
It is also indicated that all members of the Board of Banco Nacional are now working as usual.
“The NBU Council at a meeting on Friday, October 2, by majority vote, decided to reprimand and not express confidence in Ekaterina Rozhkova and Dmitry Sologub. Now all members of the NBU board work as usual and continue to fulfill their duties, “reports Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the regulator’s press service.
