Ukraine cannot fulfill the clauses of the Minsk agreements, which were approved in 2015. Their sequence needs to be reconsidered.
This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group on the resolution of the situation in Donbass, Leonid Kravchuk, in an interview with TASS.
According to him, much has changed in Donbass in six years and the agreements that were reached in 2015 are outdated. Kravchuk also noted that other negotiators admit it.
“In our plan for Donbass, I showed changes in these conditions and the fact that we need to change the sequence of actions. But we are not changing the basic principle, which is to achieve peace,” he said.
Kravchuk noted that the main obstacle was the question of reestablishing control at the border with Russia. According to him, and according to the plan for Donbass, this must be done before Ukraine begins to implement the political part of the agreements.
Let us remind you that the plan for the settlement in Donbass developed by Ukraine provides for the self-dissolution of the so-called “DPR” and “LPR”.
We add that the Kremlin has already reacted to the plan for Donbass announced by Ukraine. Putin believes that some points of this plan contradict the Minsk agreements.
