Authorities are now trying to negotiate the first doses of COVID vaccines in February 2021.
The head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, hopes that in April the coronavirus epidemic in Ukraine will begin to subside thanks to vaccination and herd immunity. He said this in an interview with Hromadske on Friday, December 18.
According to him, authorities are now trying to obtain the first doses of vaccines in February 2021. Stepanov says that the best way to combat the pandemic is herd immunity.
“It is achieved in two ways: either it is vaccination, which should be at least 70-80%, or when people get sick. I am optimistic, so it seems to me that it should be easier from April, and we will respond immediately. And furthermore, the vaccination will begin, “Stepanov said.
Recall that previously Stepanov announced the stabilization of the situation with COVID-19. In Ukraine, for more than a week, the daily number of cases is less than the number of recovered. The number of hospitalized and discharged is also comparable.
