Ukraine’s Chief Medical Officer Viktor Lyashko wrote about this on Facebook.
«Ukraine will use only those COVID-19 vaccines that have successfully passed the third phase of clinical trials. Therefore, all the rumors and political statements about the state registration of the Russian vaccine candidate in Ukraine do not correspond to reality, “said Lyashko.
He added that according to information published on the vaccine website ClinicalTrials.gov, the end of the third phase of clinical trials for the Sputnik V vaccine is scheduled for December 2021.
«As of today there are already vaccines against COVID-19, approved for use under special procedures (emergency use authorization). Interim clinical trial reports were used for this registry. On this basis, Ukraine has made a decision on the possibility of registering vaccines registered in countries with a strict regulatory policy, ”added Lyashko.
He noted that only under the aforementioned conditions, Ukraine will allow the use of vaccines.
On January 2, Verkhovna Rada deputy of the pro-Russian OLLP party Viktor Medvedchuk said that Kharkiv Biolek’s company allegedly submitted an application to the Ministry of Health for the registration of the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus Sputnik V.
At the same time, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada committee on the nation’s health, Mikhail Radutsky, said that he still did not know anything about such an application.
The pharmaceutical company itself stated that it was technically capable of producing coronavirus vaccines, but only if it had its state registration in Ukraine.
«Now JSC Biolek has not signed any contract, has not received any transfer technology for the production of the Sputnik V vaccine. JSC has never produced such vaccines on the company’s technology base, ”he noted at Biolek.
On August 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the world’s first coronavirus vaccine was registered in the Russian Federation.
In Germany, the Russian vaccine was called «a risky experiment in humans. “And in the United States, they said it is important not to make the vaccine the first, but to make a vaccine that is safe and effective.
The first country where Russia supplied Sputnik V was Belarus, followed by Venezuela. The DPRK also bought the Russian vaccine.
When will coronavirus vaccines start in Ukraine and what vaccine will they use?
