The Ministry of Health reported on drugs for COVID-19

Results of clinical trials of four Ukrainian drugs for coronavirus will appear soon.

In Ukraine, four coronavirus drugs are being tested at the same time. This was announced by the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov, in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, which was published on Tuesday, September 1.

“There are four registered drugs that can be used to treat coronavirus. They are in different stages of testing. We are awaiting reports and results of clinical trials. I think we will soon see the results of studies on the use of these drugs in the treatment of coronavirus disease, “said the head of the Ministry of Health.

He added that the government of Ukraine has received the right to request a vaccine against COVID-19 under the COVAX mechanism.

“If we talk about the search for a vaccine in the world, then abroad the clinical trials of 25 candidate vaccines for COVID-19 continue, of which six are in the final stage of clinical trials. The Ukrainian government received the right to request a coronavirus vaccine according to the COVAX mechanism (global access mechanism to vaccines against COVID-19, – Ed.) “, – said the minister.

Stepanov explained that each country that has the right to request a vaccine receives it in a volume that will allow around 20% of the population to be vaccinated, which for Ukraine is about 8 million doses. It will be used to prevent COVID-19 in people at risk and in certain age groups.

Earlier, the state chief sanitary doctor Viktor Lyashko made a forecast about the timing of the appearance of the COVID-19 vaccine in Ukraine.

Today, the Cabinet of Ministers said that until the end of September, up to 3,000 cases of the disease will be detected daily in Ukraine.
