Within two to three weeks, 360,000 doses of AstraZeneca and 117,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines should be delivered to Ukraine, Stepanov said.

Ukraine awaits the first batch of coronavirus vaccines under the global COVAX mechanism until April 15. This was announced on Monday, March 29, by the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, on Ukraine air 24.

“We expect the first delivery under COVAX for April 15. We expect 360,000 AstraZeneca vaccines and 117,000 doses from Pfizer. The first delivery should be at this volume in the next 2-3 weeks,” he said.

The minister also said that the epidemiological situation with the coronavirus in Ukraine will be difficult until at least April 15.

“We anticipate an increase in the number of patients within two weeks at least. That is, until April 15, we understand for sure that we will have a worsening of the situation,” said Stepanov.

Previously, the minister said that to date 14 million doses of COVID vaccines have already been contracted, negotiations on new contracts are ongoing.
