The subway in Ukrainian cities may open at different times
The introduction of special passes in the subway can only aggravate the spread of a new type of coronavirus infection, according to the country’s head of health services.
The head of state health services, Viktor Lyashko, does not guarantee that the work of subways in Kiev, Kharkov and the Dnieper will be restored at the same time. On Wednesday May 13, he said on the air of the Ukrainian radio.
According to him, the government will decide to open the metro based on the epidemic situation in each of the three cities where there is a metro.
“We will talk about the opening of the Kiev metro after analyzing the epidemiological situation in the capital,” said Lyashko.
According to him, the epidemiological situation in the regions may be different, so that the underground can open at different times.
“We are talking about three cities: Dnieper, Kharkov and Kiev, and I cannot guarantee that three subways will be opened at a time. It is difficult to predict, “he said.
At the same time, Lyashko noted that the Ministry of Health would not support the introduction of special passes on the subway.
“Personally, I, as the state’s chief medical officer, will not support the introduction of special passes for the subway. Experience from other countries shows that special passes create crowds in the face of turnstiles at the entrance,” he said.
Earlier, the chief medical doctor said when interregional communication will resume in the country.
