Ministry of Health updated the protocol for the treatment of coronavirus

The protocol expanded the drug use regimen and prescribed algorithms for prescribing anticoagulant therapy.

The Ministry of Health has updated the protocol for the treatment of patients with coronavirus. This was stated by the head of the department Maxim Stepanov in a briefing on Friday 18 September.

The protocol is intended to be used by all doctors who care for patients with coronavirus, added the head of the Ministry of Health.

“Yesterday, September 17, I signed an order, which approved a new protocol for the provision of medical care for the treatment of coronavirus disease, developed by our leading specialists,” explained Stepanov.

The main changes were: the introduction of an increase in the use of glucocorticoids, the definition of algorithms to prescribe anticoagulant therapy.

In addition, the protocols were supplemented with antimicrobial therapy approaches and indications for prescribing medications were specified. The protocol fully includes approaches to drug therapy and oxygen support to patients.

Remember that there are more than 3,200 new coronavirus infections in Ukraine. Now 90 thousand Ukrainians are sick with coronavirus. During the last day, their number increased by 1,587.
