The Ministry of Finance evaluated the possibility of receiving a tranche from the IMF

Ukraine has already completed four structural beacons out of ten and expects to receive a tranche from the IMF by the end of this year under the current reserve program. This was stated in an interview with one of the publications of the Minister of Finance, Sergei Marchenko, reports on Friday, November 6, the press service of the department.

“There is hope that we will receive funds in 2020, at least we are doing everything possible for this,” said the minister.

According to him, Ukraine has already completed four structural beacons of the program and the implementation of two more is in the final stage.

“We have already fulfilled four of the ten structural lights of the Memorandum with the IMF. Work has been done to reduce delinquencies. For example, in September the share of non-performing loans (NPL) in the banking sector decreased from 48% to 45.6%. Finally, a gas market for the private sector consumers who can now independently choose their gas supplier.

Reform tasks of the customs and tax authorities were also completed: unified legal entities were created, the NJSC Naftogaz statute was improved, and changes were made to the provisions regulating the salaries of supervisory councils and councils of state-owned enterprises. . This, by the way, was one of the problematic issues, and now it has been removed, “said Marchenko.

He added that the implementation of two more structural beacons is being finalized.

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance stated that the IMF has no rights to Ukraine regarding the implementation of the stand-by agreement.

Before that, the IMF assessed the prospect of cooperation with Kiev. The guarantee of the allocation of the tranche by the end of the year and further cooperation is the fulfillment of Ukraine’s obligations, in particular, the implementation of reforms.
