Education Minister Serhiy Shkarlet said Ukraine wants make an independent external evaluation mandatorybut present it in “specific form”.
According to him in an interview with “Strana”, the UPE should not be exclusively an element of admission to higher education institutions.
“The UPE is a tool to assess the quality of the knowledge acquired during training in a specific educational program. By communicating with employers, I understand that they do not need graduates who have just passed the EIT, but those who have certain skills,” he said. …
Shkarlet proposed to perform VNO, for example, as proof of learning ability for people who already have insurance experience.
“For those who go to the budget, the UPE is definitely needed. And those who plan to study on a paid basis, by contract, can take this UPE in the form of a learning ability test,” added the minister.
The head of the Ministry of Education and Science emphasized that the UPE for all school graduates will continue to be mandatory.
As previously reported by OBOZREVATEL, the Ministry of Education and Science has canceled the mandatory full external independent evaluation in Ukrainian language and literature. In 2021, only applicants entering the social and humanitarian specialties will take the test.
