The Ministry of Education and Science recommends that schools take vacations in January
In connection with the closure, educational institutions were offered to take vacations in January, as well as organize distance learning.
The Ministry of Education gave recommendations to schools due to the January closure. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science on Tuesday, December 15.
“Due to the strengthening of anti-epidemic measures, students are prohibited from attending schools from January 8 to 24, 2021, at the same time, institutions may declare vacations for this period. This is stated in a letter from the Ministry of Education and Science to the heads of local departments of education and science … So, during this period, students It is prohibited to attend general secondary education institutions regardless of ownership, except to preschool education and special education institutions. The Ministry requests to take all possible urgent measures aimed at the adequate organization of the distance educational process during this period ”, he reported.
The Ministry of Education and Science recalled that training can be organized using the platform for distance and blended learning for students in grades 5-11, All-Ukrainian School Online, launched jointly with the Ministry of Digital Science.
At the same time, the Ministry recommends considering the possibility, if necessary, of announcing current holidays, taking into account the provisions of paragraphs 3 and 4 of Article 10 of the Law “On Secondary Education.” Thus, section 3 indicates that the educational process in general secondary education institutions is organized within the academic year, which begins on September 1, has a minimum duration of 175 school days and ends no later than July 1 of the following year. Part 4 explains, in particular, that the structure and duration of the academic year, week, day, classes, as well as the forms of organization of the educational process determines the pedagogical council of the institution within the time stipulated by the educational program. In addition, according to the Law, the duration of vacations in educational institutions during the academic year cannot be less than 30 calendar days, ”the ministry concluded.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health explained how they chose the date of the quarantine. The optimal date was calculated not only on the basis of the test indicators, but also taking into account the forecasts of hospital occupancy.
