The Ministry of Defense orders the production of three AN-178 aircraft for the first time – media

The contract between the Defense Ministry and Antonov for three An-178 aircraft will conclude this year. In the days of independence, the military department never ordered new planes.

The Defense Ministry of Ukraine will place a state order for the production of AN-178 aircraft. They will be conducted by GP Antonov, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategic Industry Oleg Urusky in an interview with Radio Liberty.

“We have never ordered new aircraft. I hope that this year will take place such a significant event in a sense of the word,” he stressed.

He added that the contract with Antonov State Enterprise should be signed by the end of 2020.

Let us remember that the Ministry of Defense made a purchase for the first time through the NATO Agency without intermediaries.

We also write that the Ministry of Defense plans to liquidate more than 40 of its companies. The department has developed a strategy to reform state defense companies, as a result of which there will be half the number of companies in the purview of the Ministry of Defense.
