In the offices of the service centers of the State Migration Service in the Donetsk region, documents about the militants of the terrorist organization “DPR” were found, reported the Security Service of Ukraine.

Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed the officials of the State Migration Service (SMS) in the Donetsk region, who legalized the militants of the terrorist organization “DPR”. This was reported in the SBU press service on September 10.

Investigators found that SMS officials from three territorial service centers and one of the regional departments of the Donetsk region issued documents of the Ukrainian type, including foreign passports, to officials of the occupation administration and militants of a terrorist organization that never they had crossed the line of contact.

During searches of the offices of SMS service centers, law enforcement officers found forms that were filled out for militants and stored in electronic files and records.

“Law enforcement officers found copies of driver’s licenses, exam cards and medical certificates for suspected crimes,” the SBU said.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under the article on assistance in the activities of a terrorist organization.

In 2014, immediately after the annexation of Crimea, Russia launched an armed aggression in eastern Ukraine. The fighting is between the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the one hand, and the Russian army and the Russian-backed militants who control parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, on the other. The Russian Federation does not officially recognize its invasion of Ukraine, despite the facts and evidence presented by Ukraine.
