Ternopil authorities will not impose strict quarantine restrictions during the closure from January 8 to 24. This decision was made at a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations.
This was stated by the mayor of the city, Sergei Nadal, the video was published on YouTube.
In the city, the cancellation of the confinement was associated with a decrease in the number of people infected by coronavirus, in particular, with a decrease in the incidence rate among teachers.
“On January 6, in Ternopil, a meeting of the local commission for safety and technogenic and environmental emergencies of the Ternopil City Council was held, where information was heard from medical workers about the incidence of the Covid-19 status in Ternopil at the beginning of the year.
According to the data, in recent days there has been no increase in the incidence of Covid-19 in the city, but the number of infected residents has decreased, the number of patients who are being treated in medical institutions of Ternopil with diagnosis has decreased. of coronavirus infection, and there are practically no patients among children and workers of educational institutions “., – said in the message of the municipality of Ternopil.
In turn, Nadal said that in relation to the commission’s decision, no additional restrictions will be introduced in the city.
“Taking this into account, the commission decided not to aggravate the quarantine as of January 8 and not to introduce additional restrictions. Only those anti-epidemic measures that were taken before will operate in the territory of the Ternopil community,” he said.
Thus, as of January 11, all schools in Ternopil will continue to provide classes (primary school students will attend classes as usual and students from 5th to 11th grade) according to the mixed form of education. Business entities are advised not to cease their entrepreneurial activities after January 8, but to continue working as usual.
We will recall, earlier in Ternopil refused to introduce “weekend quarantine”, which was in force in Ukraine from November 14 to 30. Nadal said that if such restrictions are introduced, the city’s economy will be destroyed.
At the same time, it is not yet known exactly whether there will be a shutdown in Ukraine from January 8. The Office of the President reported that the Ukrainian authorities are considering postponing the dates to tighten the quarantine.
