Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov was admitted to the coronavirus infectious disease hospital due to deteriorating health. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.
According to the mayor, he arrived at the medical center on December 11. “The situation is under control, so many thanks to our doctors and medical staff,” Trukhanov wrote.
He urged Odessa residents to strictly adhere to quarantine measures and wear personal protective equipment to avoid infection. According to him, now “this is the main weapon” in the fight against the pandemic.
Trukhanov received a positive test for COVID-19 on December 9. He went into self-isolation and continued working from home.
