The details of the transfer of the mayor of Kharkiv infected by the coronavirus, Gennady Kernes, to the Berlin clinic “Charite” have been known. This is reported by UNIAN.

According to the president of the Kharkiv City Council, Yuriy Sidorenko, he was flown away in a special “anti-cape” capsule.

Kernes was not hooked up to a ventilator and was constantly conscious. Now the mayor of Kharkov is also aware.

Sidorenko said Kernes did not want to leave Ukraine, but agreed to receive treatment in Germany under pressure from family and friends.

It was previously reported that Kernes flew to Germany aboard a Bombardier Challenger 604, which came to fetch him from Nuremberg. This plane carried Alexei Navalny from Omsk to Berlin. Before that, Kernes was diagnosed with a coronavirus. The mayor confirmed the virus infection and the resulting bilateral pneumonia, but denied reports of brain edema or coma.
