The sum of 1.2 million hryvnia was found during a search by law enforcement officers among the goods in the refrigerator of the home of the manager of Ukrzaliznytsia, suspected of being involved in corruption in the field of container shipping. This was reported on the SBU website.
According to the intelligence service, in the Odessa branch of Ukrzaliznytsia PJSC was operating a corrupt container transport scheme. The raids found that officials artificially created deliberately disadvantageous conditions for the operation of regular container trains for the Ukrzaliznytsia branch. This led to the need to attract private commercial structures to find clients. In the future, such services began to be provided by a commercial structure controlled by the organizers, which in fact monopolized this part of the market.
As part of the criminal process initiated, SBU officials documented the withdrawal of more than 4 million hryvnias from the shadow through fictitious companies, which were simply appropriated by the organizers and participants of the illegal scheme.
During searches in Kiev and Odessa at the offices of Ukrzaliznytsia and the office of a business structure, SBU officers found the originals of the fictitious companies’ stamps, the raw accounting and correspondence materials of the defendants.
Earlier, “Strana” wrote that the mayors of cities announced mass searches throughout Ukraine and demanded a meeting with Zelensky.
We also report that more than fifty tax police officers conducted searches at the Cherkasy City Hall.
