The main condition for ending the war in Donbass is that Ukraine gain full control over its legal borders. The long-term frozen conflict must not be allowed to persist in central Europe.
This was stated by the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, in a joint interview with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to the Ukrainian and Polish media.
“The war will end when Ukraine regains full control over its legal borders, in the Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk regions. This is a condition and must be demanded by the entire international community,” he said.
Duda noted that according to many experts, the Russian Federation’s attack on Ukraine took place to prevent its entry into NATO and the EU.
The Polish president also stressed that it is impossible to allow a long-term frozen conflict in central Europe, because it could erupt again.
“We must ask questions very firmly. This aggression must be completed. And Ukraine’s internationally recognized state borders must be returned,” he said.
In turn, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Duda for the fact that Poland is raising the issue of the unemployment of Donbass and Crimea on all major international platforms.
“The Republic of Poland, even though it is not a member of the Normandy Four, where the question of ending the war in Donbass is being discussed, always supports us. I am grateful to the President personally and to all the Polish people for their invariable position on the non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea. This is very important, “he said. he.
We recall, Andrzej Duda arrived on Saturday October 11 on a working visit to Ukraine, and on October 13 he met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
During the visit, Duda called for the extension of the “Crimean” sanctions against Russia.
