The visit to Turin did not initially promise the Dynamo an easy ride. The Old Lady is traditionally considered one of the Dynamo’s most inconvenient rivals in the international arena. And the opponents’ first match, in Kiev at Olimpiyskiy, clearly showed the true balance of power. But this is the case … Juve have already solved their tournament tasks in the group stage of the Champions League, so the Italian champions might have underestimated it. And in Serie A, where things are not going as well for the Turinese as ever, you could save your strength.
On the other hand, Mircea Lucescu, for once, could present a near-optimal lineup for the game. There was a place in it for Sidorchuk, Shaparenko, Tsygankov and even Rodríguez. And Mikolenko did not play in the center, but in his usual place: the left flank of the defense. The only gap is the absence of Buyalsky. However, one wonders why not aspire to something more than a dignified defeat? Also, the example of Shakhtar is very fresh in the memory, having beaten not only anyone, but Real himself the day before.
As for Juventus, the mentor of the Italian champion Andrea Pirlo, unlike his colleague-teacher, carried out a serious rotation of the squad compared to the last game. However, the large selection of players at Juve also gives reason to say that Pirlo also presented a really optimal lineup for the game. It included the main protagonist of the team, Ronaldo, and the main scorer, Morata. It seems Pirlo was serious too …
The teams started the game very relaxed. Chaotic positional attacks, low speeds, the game is almost constantly in the middle of the field – these are the opening fifteen minutes of the game. Deaf 0: 0.
And then Juventus suddenly turned on. The hosts played three corner kicks at once, and there was constant tension on Buschan’s gate. The guests also created their first moment after the corner: Rodríguez beat from a distance, but above the door. And then Juve opened an account. Practically out of nowhere, out of nowhere. Sandro lined up from the right flank of the attack, Chiesa hit his head, Buschan played somewhat uncertainly, and already 1: 0.
Later in the field you could only see one team: the Italian. The hosts dominated thanks to the high pressure, keeping the guests in the same entrances to the penalty area. Ronaldo was forced to increase the lead, but after a strong blow from the Portuguese played the crossbar for the Dynamo.
Closer to the end of the first half, Dynamo became more active. Probably because Juve gave up the initiative. One way or another, the guests managed to create a couple of dangerous moments. The episode with the fall of Verbic in the penalty area of the town of Turin can be called at least interesting. Apparently, in that episode, Bonucci failed the Slovenian, but Ms. Arbiter Frappar judged otherwise. And a few minutes later, Tsygankov missed an excellent moment. Victor hit almost point-blank, but couldn’t beat Shchesny.
The second half started almost the same as the first: no goal, many positional attacks. But this time the teams tried to play at decent speeds. True, without moments.
The first danger in the second half of the meeting was created by the guests. After a corner kick, Tsygankov was good at both hitting and serving, but the Juve goalkeeper was alert. The hosts responded immediately with a good shot to Ronaldo, but our goalkeeper also played with confidence. The second attempt by the Portuguese turned out to be more successful: after a lumbago from Chiesa and a rebound from the ball to Cristiano, the Portuguese only replaced his leg and the ball crossed the goal line. It seemed that the stellar KriRo at the time was on the sidelines. But the VAR did not see any crime in the actions of the main protagonist of Juve. So the score became 2: 0. It is illogical and generally illegal, but what can be done.
Very quickly, Pirlo’s team scored the third goal. This time everything is fair. And everything is fast. Morata, after a pass from Chiesa, could not only assess the situation, but also choose the corner to hit. Álvaro shot without a chance for Buschan. 3: 0, and Dynamo can already prepare for the match against Ferencvaros.
Lucescu launched three “heroes” into battle at once: Garmash, Supryaga, and De Pena, but this castling did not affect play. Turintsy continued to have the initiative, and the Dynamo after the third ball conceded sank noticeably.
The final part of the fight passed without any sudden movements, with the exception of a dangerous blow from Shaparenko. Everything was very clear, so both teams slowed down noticeably. In the same economic mode, the rivals met with the final whistle, which marked the confident and deserved victory of Juventus. Unfortunately, at this stage this team is clearly above the level of the Dynamo. Thus, Pirlo’s pupils made it to the Champions League playoffs. The Dynamo will have to fight Ferencváros in the last round of the Europa League playoffs. To each his own, in general.
