The Verkhovna Rada does not rule out the introduction of a strict quarantine (lockdown) at the national level in Ukraine. A condition for the lockdown will be the introduction of a triage protocol for COVID-19 patients.

Mikhail Radutsky, head of the nation’s parliamentary committee for health, healthcare and health insurance, said this on the air of the Right to Power program.

“A blockade is possible when the triage protocol is working. The triage protocol is a blockade of the health system and a blockade for the country. When a doctor has to choose who to treat, it is a disaster for the country,” he explained .

According to Radutsky, the introduction of a lockdown in the spring helped the medical system avoid a load spike, but the Ukrainian economy will not be able to withstand another lockdown.

Let us remind you that Prime Minister Denis Shmygal stressed the danger of a new lockdown on the Ukrainian economy. The prime minister explained that the Ukrainian economy simply could not endure another harsh quarantine.

In addition, the head of the Kiev State Consumer Service, Oleg Ruban, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, described the introduction of the weekend quarantine as one of the steps to restore the closure in Ukraine.

We add that in Ukraine, for the first time, more than 11 thousand cases of coronavirus were confirmed per day. Overall, more than half a million coronavirus cases have already been confirmed in Ukraine.
