Putin is willing to discuss only summarizing the results of the implementation of the Minsk-2 agreement on Donbass
The spokesman for the president of the Russian Federation expressed his opinion on the folly of a new meeting of the heads of the countries of the Normandy Four to discuss a new initiative.
The new proposals from the Ukrainian side to end the armed conflict in Donbas are in contradiction with the Minsk agreements. This was announced on Thursday, November 5, by the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, the RBC-Ukraine news agency reported.
According to him, the proposal to hold elections in Donbass, subject to the withdrawal of arms and illegal formations from certain areas of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions and the transfer of a section of the border between Ukraine and Russia in Donbass under the official control of Kiev does not correspond to the agreements previously adopted in Minsk.
In this regard, Peskov expressed the opinion that a new meeting of the heads of the countries of the “Normandy Four” to discuss a new initiative was pointless.
“The meeting for the sake of the meeting itself does not make sense, the result should be at least summarize the results of the implementation of Minsk-2,” said the spokesman for the Russian president.
As previously reported, the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the trilateral contact group, Leonid Kravchuk, said that the Kiev official had developed a plan of joint measures, which provides for a complete end to the armed conflict in Donbas.
