The Kiev District Administrative Court decided to dismiss Sytnyk – media / GORDON

The Kiev District Administrative Court decided to remove from the state register the information about Artem Sytnyk as director of the National Anti-Corruption Office. This is reported by “Ukraine Truth” with reference to an informed source.

The court made such a decision, considering the complaint of the former head of the second division of NABU Alexander Kareev against Sytnik about the illegality of his dismissal. OASK decided to reinstate him in his position, having recognized his dismissal as illegal.

As part of the claim, a separate ruling was issued to eliminate the causes and conditions that contribute to the violation of the law. The court ordered the Ministry of Justice to remove information about Sytnik as head of NABU from the Unified Register.

According to the newspaper, the basis for such a decision is allegedly the decision of the Constitutional Court, which declared the decree of President Petro Poroshenko on the appointment of Sytnik illegal. It is reported that the State Investigations Directorate must now open a criminal proceeding for non-compliance with the decision of the Constitutional Court.

In addition, the decree must be sent to the Cabinet of Ministers, so that measures can be taken to comply with the NABU law, and to the deputy directors of the bureau, so that they can make a decision on who will act as incumbent.

“Ukrainska Pravda” writes that NABU has not yet seen the court’s decision.

The document published in the court register says that at the end of 2019, NABU launched an internal investigation into Kareev’s actions in the case of taking possession of the property of a company of the agro-industrial group Rostok-Holding. As a result of an investigation in May 2020, he was fired from the office. In June, he appealed to OASK both for his release and the results of an internal investigation, demanding that his post be returned.
