He also believes that all the evidence was obtained “illegally”, and the presence of journalists at the meeting “suggests that it is a purely political issue.”

Fedoryan claims that since November 7 he only drank water and went on a hunger strike. He declined to comment on the court’s decision, according to the report.

On November 7, a man was arrested on suspicion of high treason while crossing the administrative border with Russian-occupied Crimea at the Kalanchak checkpoint. According to the Crimean Prosecutor’s Office, it systematically provided assistance to the occupying authorities of the peninsula during the illegal searches and arrests of citizens in the Hizb ut-Tahrir cases.

On March 27, 2019, according to the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the suspect provided transportation to the occupants to carry out 25 illegal searches at the homes of Crimean Tatars in Simferopol. As a result of the searches, 23 people were arrested.
