The judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, who voted against the decision to abolish anti-corruption laws, temporarily refused to participate in their work.

An informed source told NV about this.

This is about:

  • KSU Deputy Chief Sergei Golovat,
  • Judge Oleg Pervomaisky,
  • judge Viktor Kolesnik,
  • Judge Vasily Lemake.

According to the interlocutor, at the beginning of the plenary session of the Constitutional Court on October 5, in which the issue of agrarian reform was considered, these judges stated that their decision was related to the public resonance around the work of the Constitutional Court, in in particular, with the publication of draft decisions in the media.

According to them, the publication of such documents is unacceptable.

Until the situation around the work of the court is normalized, these judges consider it impossible to consider specific constitutional procedures, a source told NV.

We recall, on October 27, 11 judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine voted to abolish the criminal punishment for illegal enrichment and inaccurate declaration for officials.

This decision was made a few months after 47 deputies from the pro-Kremlin OLE and the For the Future group submitted a brief on August 4 of this year with claims about the powers of anti-corruption agencies.

After the scandalous court decision, President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill that proposed to reject the entire composition of the Constitutional Court.

In turn, its head, Alexander Tupitsky, said that the dissolution bill of the president had indications of a constitutional coup and called the actions of the head of state an ultimatum.

Zelenskiy’s initiative was also criticized in the Council of Europe and the Venice Commission.
