Journalists from the Ukrainian TV channel spoke with the heroine of the viral video, who, on the eve, during the ice in Kiev, tried to climb the Andreevsky Spusk.
Andriyivsky Spusk’s video was spread on social media and became popular not only in Ukraine, but also abroad. It was published by the European television channel Euronews, the American edition CBS News, British comedy writer James felton (compared it to the UK’s attempts to leave the EU) and the weather forecast company AccuWeather.
The schoolgirl’s name is Maria. He said he fell 40 times and hit a small knee, but generally did not suffer from the fact that he does gymnastics and knows how to land properly. In the end, the girl was rescued by her brother, he came to pick her up and they went home together.
The story in the video didn’t bother the girl, but her mother said she saw it with tears in her eyes.
In Kiev, the second day of heavy ice. Utility workers say they worked through the night on December 11, but due to bad weather they were forced to work the same sections of the road multiple times. The number of traffic accidents increased dramatically: on the night of December 10 alone, at least 120 accidents occurred.
The sidewalks and roads were so icy that it was difficult for pedestrians to take a few steps without falling. As of the morning of December 11, more than 160 people were injured. On Friday, an operational post in Kiev was introduced on all public transport routes due to difficult weather conditions.
On the weekend in the capital of Ukraine rain, snow and light wind are expected.
What should pedestrians do on the ice?
- choose shoes with raised soles and low heels;
- move slowly, do not keep your hands in your pockets, relax and bend your knees a little;
- if you lose your balance, sit down to reduce the height of the fall;
- stay away from buildings and trees; icicles can fall from them;
- be careful when crossing the street or to the side of it.
