The Interior Ministry demands a ban on paid rallies

It is impossible to bring to justice the participants of the paid protests, says the deputy head of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry.

The deputy head of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry Anatoly Gerashchenko proposes to legally ban “paid” rallies. He announced it on Thursday, February 11, on the air of Ukraine 24 channel.

“We have very liberal legislation. Anyone in our country can pay millions of hryvnias to organize paid protests, to hire some people who will walk around with ‘for’ or ‘against’ banners, Gerashchenko said.

According to Gerashchenko, in 2015, he developed a relevant bill prohibiting such demonstrations, which also proposed to punish such actions. However, at that time his idea was not supported by colleagues.

“We need to document what these boys and girls are doing together. Usually they get money, $ 500 a month, they are members of sports clubs. But this is not illegal,” he said.

Earlier in Kiev, near the Central Officers’ House, a concentration of retirees from the departments of power of Ukraine took place.
