Children without symptoms of coronavirus are the “engine of the epidemic” as they bring the infection home. Olga Golubovskaya, infectious disease specialist, Doctor of Medicine, said this during her speech at the Ukrainian Women’s Congress.

He stressed that people with asymptomatic COVID-19 are contagious.

“In addition, these patients are the engine of the epidemic … of the entire population of people, the most frequently asymptomatic forms in children. And children are the engine of any epidemic. Because they bring this asymptomatic disease to the home of their relatives at risk”. – said Golubovskaya.

According to her, the Americans have a recommendation for testing, which Ukraine adopted, according to which if there is a young person in the house with mild respiratory symptoms, this should be considered as COVID-19, unless proven otherwise. You don’t need to test it, but you do need to test the at-risk people you live with.

“If a child is sick or has any type of respiratory symptoms, the risk groups should be examined between 4 and 5 days from the moment of contact with a sick child,” said the infectious diseases specialist, adding that on the second day the test may not yet reveal infection.

Remember that in Ukraine there are more than 15 thousand cases of COVID-19 per day. Therefore, the day before a new anti-record was set. At the same time, more than 9.6 thousand Ukrainians recovered per day.
