The guarantee of the allocation of the tranche by the end of the year and further cooperation is the fulfillment of Ukraine’s obligations, in particular, the implementation of reforms.
The allocation of the next tranches by the IMF to Ukraine, as well as the implementation of the Stand-By program in general, will depend on the implementation of the reforms by the authorities, the fulfillment of the obligations and other objectives stipulated in the Memorandum about the Stand-By program. This was announced on Wednesday, October 21, by the Director of the European Department of the Foundation, Alfred Kammer, in response to a question from Ukrinform.
“In recent months, we have been working very closely with the government on the implementation of reforms, but also on their commitments under the Memorandum and on achieving the goals set out in the program. We are working closely with them to implement and meet these commitments, and this interaction will continue. ” – Kammer noted in response to a request to comment on the possibility of Ukraine receiving the next tranches from the Fund by the end of this year.
According to Kammer, the IMF understands that the Stand-By program is aimed at supporting macroeconomic stability in Ukraine, responding to the coronavirus crisis, but also “implementing a series of reforms that must be carried out over a period of 18 months.”
Earlier, the Finance Ministry spoke about the problems with the IMF. The International Monetary Fund has questions about the work of Ukraine’s anti-corruption authorities and is unhappy with the restriction of salaries to members of the Supervisory Councils of companies.
And in the Office of the Presidency, they announced that there was no pause in cooperation with the IMF.
