“Nine of our companions died and four were injured,” the message says.
At the same time, Sputnik writes that the commander of the eighth corps, Lieutenant General Osman Erbash, is among the dead.
According to the son-in-law of the President of Turkey, Erbash was at the origins of the Bayraktar drones. Selcuk Bayraktar, owner of a company that produces UAVs, said he was a friend of the general.
Communication with the helicopter was interrupted at 2:25 p.m., after which a search force was dispatched.
According to RIA Novosti, the dash fell in a remote mountainous area in the eastern Bitlis province.
There are many medics and soldiers at the scene and the evacuation of the wounded is underway.
The reasons for the accident are being investigated.
