The Health Ministry said how many hospital beds in Ukraine were occupied by COVID-19 patients

The highest occupancy of hospital beds is observed in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. Less than half of the beds are occupied in the Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kiev, Kirovograd, Kherson and Ternopil regions.

In Ukraine, 59.8% of hospital beds are occupied for patients with a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis. This is demonstrated by the data of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on October 18.

Hospital beds are filled to the maximum in the Lugansk (90%) and Donetsk (75.1%) regions.

It is followed by the Khmelnytsky and Odessa regions (72.9% and 72.2% respectively). In the Dnepropetrovsk region, this figure is 70.1%, in the Zaporozhye region – 62.2%, and in the Kharkov region – 59.5%.

This indicator is below 50% in the Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kiev, Kirovograd, Kherson and Ternopil regions

As of October 18, 298,872 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Ukraine, of which 5,231 were in the last 24 hours. 5,607 patients became victims of COVID-19, 125,377 patients were cured.

An outbreak of coronavirus infection began in late 2019 in China. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the spread of the coronavirus a pandemic.
