Chief Medical Officer Viktor Lyashko said the coronavirus epidemic in Ukraine is likely to subside in May 2021.
In an interview with TSN, he said that the vaccination of the population should contribute to this. This is also due to the seasonality of the virus.
«Broadly speaking, I believe that as of May 2021 we will already have that adaptive quarantine, which will allow us to breathe better. But the seasonality of the virus will also contribute to this, I think we will see a clear seasonality and the spring-summer period of the coronavirus will reduce its activity and circulation, ”said Lyashko.
In addition, in the spring the vaccination process of the population in Ukraine will begin, and gradually people will develop immunity to the disease.
«And in addition a vaccine will appear, and every day, every month, more and more people will be vaccinated against the coronavirus disease and form immunity, which will gradually become collective. And we will forget about this terrible disease, “he added.
