Performing PCR testing is a complex process that requires specialists
In Ukraine, by the end of November, they want to reach 50 thousand PCR tests per day, the department explained.
During the last day, 67,573 tests were carried out for the COVID-19 coronavirus in Ukraine, of which 41,430 were analyzed by PCR. This is a new record, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov announced in a briefing on Saturday, October 24.
“This is a record number. There have not been more than 40 thousand in Ukraine yet. We clearly realize that in November we must reach 50 thousand tests (by PCR method – ed.) Per day,” said Stepanov.
The minister noted that carrying out PCR tests is a complex process that requires specialists.
“It takes time to train these specialists. Especially if they were just destroyed during the last 5-6 years, it was believed that they were not necessary. Therefore, we trained in a new way,” Stepanov said.
We will remember, in Ukraine for three days in a row there are more than 7 thousand new cases of coronavirus. Most of the cases were detected in the Kiev, Kharkov, Zhytomyr and Lviv regions.
It was previously reported that the Ministry of Health plans to reach 75 thousand PCR tests per day by the end of the year.
