While there is no need for a strict quarantine, says Lyashko
The Health Ministry is now trying to calculate when in two weeks the beds for coronavirus patients will be exhausted.
Ukraine will have to return to a strict quarantine when the hospital beds allocated for coronavirus patients run out. This was stated by the chief health doctor, Viktor Lyashko, in an interview with the UP. A life.
Now there is no such need, as 50 thousand beds have been prepared for coronavirus patients. Currently, there are about 20 thousand patients in hospitals.
“The quarantine worked 100%. The system was prepared, there was no outbreak, there was no fatality, and now we are ready to continue working in conditions of a greater number of cases of the disease, without significantly affecting the economy in the framework of the adaptive quarantine, “says Lyashko.
Now at the Ministry of Health I am calculating what level of morbidity and when it will lead to full filling of the beds.
“So, as a health doctor, I will say: look, we have reached this figure, we have 2 weeks left, and we have no choice but to follow the example of Israel, Madrid, Paris and introduce strict restrictive quarantine measures. It will no longer be possible to find a balance between the economy and saving lives, “Lyashko stressed.
It should be noted that, literally today, the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, once again assured that they would not introduce a full general quarantine again, despite the record incidence.
