Ukraine needs fewer recruits, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The General Staff continues to work on the high-quality staffing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with rank and file soldiers and sergeants. Its objective is to increase the number of recruited soldiers.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plans to reduce the number of those called up for military service this fall. This is indicated on the Facebook page of the General Staff on Saturday, August 29.
“Since the beginning of the year, 25 thousand people have been involved in contract military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (of which more than 2 thousand are officers). This raises the question of reducing the number of Ukrainian citizens subject to urgent military service in October-December of this The corresponding proposals are being prepared for presentation to the Cabinet of Ministers, “the statement said.
It should be noted that now the General Staff continues to work on the high-quality staffing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with soldiers and sergeants, with the aim of increasing the number of recruited military personnel. In particular, steps are being taken to improve the procedure for performing military service for this category of military.
“In the military police stations, which are gradually becoming territorial centers for recruitment and social support, improvements continue in the organization of the selection of candidates for admission to military service under the contract. The performance of this work is positively determined by the number of citizens who enter military service under contract and condition their future destiny with service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, “it was reported.
In addition, it is planned to improve Ukraine’s statutory legal acts on the social protection of military personnel, to ensure the professional growth of military personnel and to increase the level of material (monetary) support for military personnel (from the beginning of 2021, with an increase of expenditures in the cash support fund at the request of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine).
Let us remind you that in early August the spring conscription for military service, which took place between May and July, ended in Ukraine. 16,460 people were summoned and sent to the troops. The recruitment plan was 100% fulfilled.
