In Senegal, a new unknown disease has been discovered that causes blisters on the skin and intense itching. The infection was brought by fishermen from the open sea. There are already 170 people infected.
Reported by Dakaractu.
So, local doctors point out that the disease is spreading very quickly: a hundred infected has increased per day, patients were taken to the stadium to isolate them. Locals informed authorities about the threat a few days ago, but so far there has been no reaction. Fishermen suspect that seawater near the closest settlement may be the source of the infection.
“We noticed it in Mbour, more than 10 days have passed. We warned, but there was no reaction from the authorities. The situation is very serious. According to our information, it is the water in the high seas that is the source of this mysterious disease. It is located between Mbour and Rufisk, because here in Rufiska, only fishermen who had to frequent the sector are infected. Last night several cases of contagion were detected, and the next few hours could be decisive, “said Pierre Mbupa from the fishing pier in the town of Rufisk.
Due to the rapid spread of the mysterious disease, the local authorities decided to convene an emergency meeting with the participation of nurses, the district chief doctor, representatives of the fishing community and the mayor of the city. Representatives of the district councils have also been invited, which may affect the reaction of higher authorities in Senegal.
Recall that in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China, where a case of bubonic plague was recorded in early July, a resident died of intestinal plague. 35 people in contact with him are isolated.
As reported by “Strana”, according to the immunologist’s forecasts, by May 2021, about 40% of the country’s population will become ill from Covid-19 in Ukraine, some 40,000 deaths are forecast.
