Vyacheslav Zolochevsky with his mother
The 20-year-old cadet was diagnosed with a concussion, bruises and burns, but is already walking through the hospital park.
Cadet Vyacheslav Zolochevsky, who survived after the tragic accident of the An-26 plane near Chuguev, is already leaving the hospital ward on the street and was able to tell about the tragic flight. TSN journalists spoke with Zolochevsky on Tuesday, September 29.
The cadet was diagnosed with a concussion, bruises and burns. A 20-year-old boy is being treated at the Kharkov military hospital. He is supported by his mother and says that “he was born with a shirt.”
Zolochevsky said that on board the plane navigation, engine starting and radio communications dominated. In all, there were 20 cadets and seven crew members in the cockpit. Slava, who was sitting almost to the side of the cockpit, says the flight lasted well, but he suddenly woke up inside a burning plane.
“I must have hit my head,” he remembers.
The guy couldn’t understand what was happening. The cadet was saved from serious burns, probably due to the fact that the fuselage overturned it. He crawled out. Remember: when he came out, he tried to save his friend, Vitaly Vilkhovy, whose body was engulfed in flames.
“I tried to turn it off. Then others ran, turned it off, and that was it,” says the guy.
The next day, he learned that Vitaly had died. On that plane, the boy lost the entire group: 12 companions, only he survived.
Doctors say: the guy will not stay in the hospital, but there are months of rehabilitation ahead.
Let us remind you that on the night of September 25, the An-26 plane crashed near Chuguev. I was on a training flight. 26 people died. Only one cadet survived.
It was also reported that the father of the sole survivor of the An-26 crash, Vitaly Zolochevsky, survived three plane crashes.
