The Ukrainian army studied the British method of planning the protection and defense of airfields.
Its main objective is to introduce the theoretical foundations of risk planning and assessment for the protection of aerodromes and critical infrastructure according to NATO standards.
The Ukrainian-British exercise Warrior Watcher 2020 started in Nikolaev with the participation of the Naval Forces, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the British Armed Forces. This was announced on Saturday, September 24, by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
This is already the second maneuver in the training center 198 of the Ukrainian Navy, its main objective is to get acquainted with the theoretical foundations of planning and risk assessment of the protection of airfields and critical infrastructure in accordance with NATO standards .
The level of compatibility between units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the guards of the Royal Air Force of Great Britain is also expected to increase.
During the first week, the Ukrainian army studied the British method of planning the protection and defense of airfields, said the deputy chief of the exercise, Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Maksimenko.
After the theoretical course, all the participants divided into three unions to develop a plan for the protection and defense of aerodromes according to different scenarios.
The first group evaluated the risks for an aerodrome located on an island in the sea, the second – for an aerodrome in the field, the third group – for an aerodrome within the city.
As reported, in the units of the Armed Forces in southern Ukraine, continued training to destroy enemy UAVs.
