The EU will allocate 25 million euros to Ukraine for digitization

Ukraine will receive the first financial contribution to the digital transformation of the country – 9.6 million euros within the EU4DigitalUA project.

The European Union intends to provide Ukraine with 25 million euros of financial support for the development of digital transformation, said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov. The head of the department on Wednesday, November 25, announced this to Fedorov on Facebook.

“The first economic contribution that Ukraine will receive within the framework of the EU4DigitalUA project is 9.6 million euros. The Estonian Academy of Electronic Governance and the Spanish Foundation FIIAPP Spain will help in the implementation of projects on electronic services, cybersecurity and data protection , the development of registries, “explained the minister.

He also specified that the project aims to strengthen the ability of the Ukrainian state to provide public services online, strengthening cybersecurity and the security of personal data. The project will run until March 2024.

During its implementation, the Trembita data exchange system was created, which provides interaction between the electronic records of the executive authorities.

“Support for digitization in Ukraine is at the same time support for all key and anti-corruption reforms. The country will receive further qualitative changes. We are grateful to the EU for its trust and we act together!” added Fedorov.

Previously, the Ministry of Digital Science announced the date of rejection of paper documents in government agencies. The head of the Finance Ministry promised that Ukraine in the next two years will become the most digitized country.

It was also reported that the Ministry of Digital Science introduced new services of the Diya application.
