The EU has not received confirmation of the fact of the transfer of Syrian militants to Karabakh, according to Brussels.
The EU is aware of reports of the transfer of Syrian militants by Turkey to the conflict zone in Nagorno-Karabakh, the diplomatic service spokesman said.
The European Union calls on the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to end hostilities. This was reported on Monday, September 28 by the TASS news agency with reference to the statement made by the president of the EU’s foreign policy service, Peter Stano, at a briefing in Brussels.
“We also call on all actors in the region to refrain from any form of interference in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” he said.
According to Stano, the EU is aware of reports about the transfer of Syrian militants by Turkey to the conflict zone in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“However, so far we have not seen any facts to confirm this information. In this context, we can only repeat our call to refrain from any foreign intervention,” he said.
Earlier, representatives of the parties made accusations that their enemy was using mercenaries from Syria.
Stano pointed out that the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, held telephone conversations over the weekend with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, during which he stressed that the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh does not have a solution. military.
According to him, Borrell has not yet discussed this situation with the leadership of the main states in the region, in particular, Russia and Turkey.
