The EU Council included two Russian citizens and four Russian companies involved in the construction of the railway section of the Crimean Bridge on the sanctions list. This was announced on Thursday, October 1, by the TASS news agency with reference to the EU Council resolution published in the official journal of the European Union.

The EU list includes companies Lenpromtransproekt, JSC Directorate for the construction of the railway Berkakit Tommot Yakutsk, Crimean Railway, Crimean First Insurance Company.

The sanctions list also includes Leonid Ryzhenkin, deputy director of Stroygazmontazh, who oversaw the construction, and Alexander Ganov, general director of TK Grand Service Express JSC.

All people on the list are denied access to the EU, their assets in European banks, if found, are subject to freezing. European companies are also prohibited from doing business with listed companies.

“The construction of the bridge and the railways and their connection with the transport infrastructure of the peninsula allowed Russia to consolidate control over annexed Crimea, continuing its isolation from Ukraine,” says the EU decision.

As reported, the ambassadors of the EU countries on Monday, September 28, agreed on sanctions against Russia for the construction of the Kerch Bridge.

Recall that the EU extended personal sanctions against Russia for six months. At the same time, it was reported that 15 more people and various organizations involved in the construction of the Kerch Bridge will be added to the sanctions list.
