DPRK introduced submarine-launched ballistic missile
A military parade scheduled to coincide with the 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea was held in Pyongyang on Thursday night.
A military parade was held in Pyongyang, scheduled to coincide with the VIII Congress of the DPRK Labor Party. In particular, the parade featured strategic ballistic missiles launched from submarines. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Korea Central Telegraph Agency (CTAC).
“The world’s most powerful weapon, submarine-based strategic ballistic missiles, one after another” was demonstrated in the square, “showing the power of the revolutionary armed forces” of the DPRK, the Central Military Commission said in a statement.
Commenting on the parade, CTAC highlighted that these new elements are “the most powerful weapon in the world, showing the strength of the revolutionary armed forces.”
The inspection was led by the leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un.
According to the CTAC, the event also demonstrated the latest samples of tactical missiles and self-propelled artillery installations.
The previous party’s convention was held in May 2016. The last military parade was held in the DPRK in October 2020 in honor of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the WPK.
Earlier it was reported that the leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un, at the last VIII Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) was elected general secretary of the party.
