For seven months, the drop in GDP is estimated at 6.2%. By the end of the year, the National Bank expects a decrease of 6%.
For seven months of 2020, the Ukrainian economy contracted by 6.2%, according to a review on the website of the Ministry of Economy on Friday, September 11.
At the same time, for six months, the drop was estimated at 6.5%.
The fall in the composite index of production of goods and services by the main types of economic activity (SIP) amounted to 7.3% (7.7% a month earlier).
It is observed that in July, almost all types of economic activity showed a slowdown in the rate of decline and growth (in particular, the retail segment of the market).
“This indicates that the gradual recovery process continues and that most areas of the economy are gradually recovering from the lockdown (especially in April),” the review says.
As a reminder, the National Bank expects the economy to contract 6% by the end of 2020.
