Sixth AAC reversed the decision of the Kiev District Administrative Court

The decision of the Kiev District Administrative Court of May 27 this year was canceled. The Galician lion is not a symbol of Nazism.

The Sixth Court of Appeal in Contentious-Administrative matters accepted the complaint from the National Commemoration Institute (INP), thus recognizing the symbolism of the SS Galicia as such of not belonging to the totalitarian national democratic regime (Nazi). This was announced on Wednesday, September 23, by the court’s press service.

Thus, the former head of the INP, Vladimir Vyatrovich, during his tenure, said that the symbols of the SS Galicia were not Nazis.

In response to this, in 2017, a woman not indicated by the court filed a lawsuit with the Kiev District Administrative Court against the INP with a request to recognize the actions of the institute and illegal Vyatrovich and force the defendants to refute information on the division symbols of the Galician 14th SS Grenadier Division.

In May this year, the plaintiff’s request was partially satisfied: the OASK declared illegal the actions of the INP and its president to issue an opinion on the symbols.

The defendant, for his part, filed a complaint against the OASK’s decision with the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal, which satisfied it, thus reversing the OASK’s decision.

As reported, Vyatrovich claimed that the Ukrainians were forced to fight as part of Galicia’s SS division by force or propaganda. At the same time, the Galician lion, which was used by the division, in their opinion, is not a Nazi symbol.
